BRECp2 is the companion ActiveX component to BREVe2. It provides validated values of pressure coefficient Cp and zone scaling length b for all possible combinations of parameter given in BS6399-2:1997, interpolating within the data tables as required, and including all the specialised provisions in the sub-clauses and notes. For example, it will give the required pressure coefficient for every zone of a duo-pitch roof with parapets, using the data in BS6399-2:1997 for duo-pitch roofs and for flat roofs with parapets and the provisions in 3.3.3.7. When a particular combination of parameters is supported in the directional method and not it the standard method, the equivalent standard method values are supplied by considering all directions ±45° either side of the orthogonal case. A "provenance" – an explanation of how the value was arrived at and the clauses used is also provided.
BRECp2 comes as an ActiveX component for use alongside BREVe2 in applications for the design of buildings against wind loads. It can be used with any programming language that supports ActiveX. This includes Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, where it can be used to automate standard design calculations in a tabular form.
A stand-alone application is also provided that presents the correct Cp pressure and suction values in every zone for any valid combination of parameters. An example of the application is shown below.
