At the opposite end of the spectrum from the design and testing work that Anemos often undertakes is the investigation of things that have gone wrong. All designers strive to avoid this situation but sometimes events or conditions conspire against them. It is important then to find out why - not just for the apportionment of blame and liability, also so that we can understand and improve our future designs. Commissions in this area have been from contractors, owners and solicitors. Our experience will give a valuable insight because we know how the codes of practice work, for example, and can see where they are wrongly applied or inappropriate. We also have practical experience of construction practices - Nick Cook from his time at BRE and Paul Freathy from his previous consulting and time with Redland Technology. All this can be brought to bear when you need to know why something failed.
The other important attribute that we can bring to bear is our independence from any of the parties involved. Often the resolution of a dispute needs somebody to take a step back and ask the fundamental questions without any preconceptions. That is where we come in. We will give you a detached view of what happened and why.
