Structural Dynamics Capability Strengthened

We are pleased to announce the installation and commissioning of a new and improved dynamic force balance in our Dunstable wind tunnel. Purpose-designed and built for wind engineering studies the new force balance will allow accurate measurements of the effects of wind on forces and moments for dynamically responsive buildings. Such measurements can be critical to ensure that the design is structurally optimised (lower cost, lower risk) and also that acceleration comfort criteria are met. Coupled with our solid-state multi-transducer pressure measurement systems, this new piece of equipment strengthens our ability to provide valuable, timely advice to design teams at any stage of their projects.
