RWDI Anemos have been appointed to provide wind engineering consultancy on an exciting twin-tower project planned for Leeds. Having won the right to develop the site through a competition the design team, which includes Ian Simpson Architects and WSP consulting engineers, are working to a tight schedule to complete design works. Desk studies of the key wind-related issues will be prepared to speed this process - including calculations of the dynamic response and likely peak cladding pressures. Then, as the design is refined, the proposed buildings will be wind tunnel tested to confirm the wind loading and local wind environment at street level.
