RWDI Anemos, the International Wind Engineering company based in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, have recently agreed to sponsor an award for "Best Appreciation of Wind Studies" at the Birmingham School of Architecture, which is part of the Birmingham City University.
The sponsorship involves presenting the key elements for the need and format of Wind Engineering to Post Graduate students, working with the students throughout the design and preparation of their required projects, and then making a final judgement on the student with the best result.
Areas covered during the lectures include:
Wayne Pearce, Director of RWDI Anemos presented the lectures, and two of RWDI Anemos Engineers, Ewan Crosbie and Marco Caminiti, have been working on a one-to-one basis with the students.
The judging of the projects will take place in May 2008, and the award of a £250.00 travel token and inscribed certificate will be presented by Paul Freathy, RWDI Anemos Managing Director, at a special presentation evening of all the students’ projects in June 2008.
The sponsorship of this award is part of RWDI Anemos’s ongoing commitment to developing a deeper understanding of the benefits and necessity of Wind Engineering within the Construction Industry, and the education of future architects.
