British Standard Code of Practice for Wind Loading - BS6399-2:1997

We have unrivalled knowledge and experience of the UK wind code and provide technical training to practising professionals, including seminars and workshops. More than 30 such seminars have now been given to wide ranging audiences around the UK.

In another innovation, technical seminars have been presented to local authorities, architects and designers concerning the performance of warm pitched roofs and the need for ventilation. These talks were funded by our client but provided free of charge to the delegates to help them with their CPD and, more importantly, as a technical marketing exercise for our client. The seminars were not overtly commercial but simply sought to put across a well-reasoned technical argument. As such they both increased awareness of our client and also raised their profile to the technical 'high ground'.

RWDI Anemos wind conference organisers WES2002

Recently Paul Freathy completed the organisation of WES 2002 - held in Nottingham in September 2002. Previously, he organised CWE 2000, a major international conference on the use of computational techniques in wind engineering and also the previous three UK national conferences of the Wind Engineering Society, in Bristol (1998), Warwick (1996) and Oxford (1994) and on the 2-4 September 1998.

Another long term client is the international chimney organisation CICIND. CICIND has about 180 members worldwide and Paul Freathy acts as Secretary to the group, organising the production of their technical journal, CICIND Report, and their Model Codes of Practice. Also, International meetings are organised on a twice yearly basis for CICIND - the most recent ones being in Australia, the USA, Austria, Spain, Italy, Turkey and Poland. The next meeting in September 2003 will be in Bucharest.
